The Oregon Peace Officers Association (OPOA) was founded in 1968 dedicating itself to improving the professionalism of Oregon’s law enforcement community through community support, communication, training, recognition, and death benefits for fallen officers.  Membership in OPOA is open to all law enforcement related professionals of any rank.  Today, the Oregon Peace Officers Association is one Oregon’s largest law enforcement associations with over 1,200 federal, state and local law enforcement officers included in its membership.

The Oregon Peace Officers Association has a full training staff that provides the best training possible to law enforcement officers throughout the state of Oregon including an annual law enforcement training conference. 

For more than 42 years Oregon Peace Officers Association has been the only state wide organization which has held an annual awards ceremony event to specifically honor those law enforcement professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Oregon Peace Officers Association has several subchapters which focus on specific disciplines of law enforcement to include Oregon Association of Reserve Peace Officers, Oregon Background Investigators Association, Oregon Association of Property and Evidence Officers. 

In addition, Oregon Peace Officers Association provides college scholarships annually to those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement; provides additional death benefits to its members; and supports various law enforcement related charitable activities throughout the state such as Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS).
