California Casualty to Offer Free Identity Theft Resolution Services
-Public Service Insurance Company Provides Free Resolution Services to All Policyholders-
SAN MATEO, CA, March 14, 2007 – California Casualty, a leading provider in specialized, nationwide auto and home insurance designed especially for educators and public safety employees, announced today that identity theft resolution services are now available to all policyholders, at no extra cost. California Casualty has partnered with Identity Theft 911, America’s leader in identity theft education and resolution, to provide customers with expert guidance to resolve the difficulties brought on by identity fraud.
In addition to comprehensive education and victim resolution, policyholders will have free access to two other specialized resolution programs: Identity Theft 911’s Identity Disaster Response service and the Identity Travel Assistance program. The unique disaster response service restores important documents for individuals who have lost them due to fire, flood or other natural disaster. The Identity Travel Assistance program provides help for policyholders while traveling domestically or internationally, making available centralized assistance to replace lost or stolen documentation necessary for a safe return home.
“Because we want every customer to have access to these vital services, we have decided to provide them as a free benefit to all of our policyholders, effective as of January 1, 2007,” said Beau Brown, Chief Executive Officer of California Casualty. “This places us in rare company, since most organizations require the purchase of additional coverage to qualify for identity theft assistance.”
Identity theft is America’s fastest growing crime. According to new figures from the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, over 100 million records across the nation have now been affected by identity theft. “California Casualty has taken an incredible step in providing its customers with a sense of security in a time of increased risk,” said Steve Christenson, President of Identity Theft 911. “The company is continuing to maintain its tradition of dedicated customer service by offering these preventative and resolution resources to its policyholders for free.”
With one call to Identity Theft 911, policyholders are paired with an advocate who will walk them through each stage of the recovery process until their identity is restored. The advocate works on the victim’s behalf to notify credit bureaus, creditors, collectors and other relevant parties, and provides assistance with filing a police report and the Fraud Victim Affidavit. They also offer a full year of active credit monitoring and follow up to make sure the situation is completely resolved.
California Casualty policyholders will also have access to educational resources and proactive advice at http://aplusidtheft.com/home.htm, which provides a wealth of information and guidance.
“Throughout our history, California Casualty has taken pride in providing caring and conscientious service for our customers,” said Frank Jones, Executive Vice President of California Casualty. “We’ve also been pioneers in providing innovative solutions to our customers’ needs. For this reason, we looked at ways we could help our customers deal with the growing problem of identity theft. Our research showed that most people don’t know where to turn for help when they find out or suspect they are a victim of identity theft. That’s why we’ve partnered with Identity Theft 911 to provide our customers with effective and professional assistance, should they become a victim.”
