Fundraising
The Oregon Peace Officers Association (OPOA) is asking for donations by using a telephone soliciting company called “Community Fundraisers Inc.“. They will first make phone contact, then send a bill to the address you provide. Their bill will have the name of OPOA on it with their direct mailing address and phone number for questions. The address should be 12320 SW 1st Street, Suite 100, Beaverton, OR 97005. The phone number of 1‑866‑444‑4052 is the primary number for questions about the fundraising. A fundraising thank you letter should also be included with the invoice. It will read as follows:

The Oregon Peace Officers Association is Oregon’s largest law enforcement association with over 1200 federal, state and local law enforcement officers included in its membership. Established in 1968, the primary purpose of the Oregon Peace Officers Association is for the upgrading of the law enforcement profession in Oregon and for promoting community safety through its activities and programs.
The members do not have the experience or time to administer a fundraising effort of this magnitude and, therefore, have found it beneficial to enter into a contractual agreement with Community Fundraisers to conduct the fundraising operation, a relationship that has spanned the past 10 years. As part of this agreement, the Association is not responsible for any incurred expenses such as phone bills, wages, postage, printing, rent, insurance, etc. We find this to be the best approach as under this arrangement the Association realizes a greater net return than from most other forms of fundraising, with virtually no risk of taking a loss, if any, please visit our website at www.opoa.info and click on the link to fundraising. The Association is not a charity but is a non-profit professional organization. Therefore, donations are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. Thank you for your generous support of the Oregon Peace Officers Association.
For questions about OPOA please direct your calls to us at our primary phone number of (503) 393‑9237.
We have had citizens call their local Police and Sheriff’s Department to verify this group is authentic. We understand and appreciate people making sure any organization is authentic prior to providing them with money. We hope this information has proven beneficial.
Thank you for your support. ‑ OPOA President ‑ Scott Dye
