TYPES OF
MEMBERSHIP
Active Member:
Open to all full-time peace officers who are certified, or certifiable
by the Oregon Board on Public Safety Standards & Training; and any other
person who is employed full-time by a city, county, state or federal
agency; including corrections, parole & probation and child welfare
organizations. Honorably retired Oregon law enforcement officers are
also eligible.
Associate Member:
Persons who are employed less than full time, or who are volunteer
members of any the above law enforcement agencies; active or retired law
enforcement officers from other states; or persons who are active
members of any special chapter of OPOA, and who are not otherwise
eligible for OPOA membership.
The new membership fee for Active and
Associate members is $25.00 per year (July 1 - June 30), with a $15.00
annual renewal fee.
Lifetime Membership: Any Active or Associate member
in good standing, or any eligible candidate for either status, may apply
for a lifetime membership for a one-time fee of $250.00. Lifetime
members will have all benefits of regular active or associate membership
for life, including the death benefit.
