Mike Wells started is his law enforcement career in 1993 with the Oregon State Police as a Cadet while attending Western Oregon University where he received his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. While attending school Mike also worked as a Reserve Police Officer with the Independence Police Department. In 1996 Mike joined the Corvallis Police Department. While employed with Corvallis Police Department Mike worked as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Canine Officer and Detective. During this time Mike received a Master's Degree in Business Administration. In 2008 Mike was hired by the Oregon Department of Justice Criminal Justice Division as a Special Agent. Currently Mike is assigned to the Organized Crime Section. 

Mike joined the Oregon Peace Officer Association in as an executive board member in 2007 and is currently the 2011-2012 President of OPOA. Mike also holds board positions for BPSST, the Police Policy Board and the Memorial Board.
