Born and raised in Oregon, David White has been a deputy sheriff for over twenty years and has been a detective for the last thirteen. As a member of the Marion County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit he works persons crimes consisting of homicide/death investigations, major assaults and sex offenses. Detective White gains the strength to do his job from the victims and their families he interacts with. He has been a board member of the Oregon Peace Officers Association for four years and a vice-president for the past three years. His joy in the OPOA comes from being able to see and hear about the heroic efforts of officers, deputies, troopers and agents throughout Oregon.

In his off duty time he enjoys the maintenance work of his orchard, gardening, beekeeping and kayaking the rivers and bays of this beautiful state.
