Scott Dye served with the U.S. Marines from 1979 to 1985; he was promoted to Recon platoon Sergeant, prior
to completing his military career. He served in Beirut Lebanon, Somalia, and completed three West Pac tours.
In 1985 Scott Dye started working for several Police Agencies as a diver in the Columbia River. He then
became certified as a police officer in Oregon and work for 15 years gaining experience in patrol, entry team,
narcotics, DARE, SRO, FTO, Traffic, K-9 handler, DUII Program Manager, and Detective. Scott has also been
involved extensively in Martial Arts and Defensive Tactics teaching both in the Military and LE for over thirty
years.
In 2000, Scott became a Training Lieutenant with the Department of Public Safety Training Academy
in Oregon. While there Scott Dye trained thousands of police officers regarding Ethics and Tactical
Communications. After retiring in 2007 Scott was asked by Lt. Col Grossman to be the NW Representative for
Killology Research Group and continues to work with Lt. Col Grossman.
Scott was the OPOA President from November 2009 to November 2011, and still remains active on the Board.
