*Class Full* Firearm and Vehicle Tactics
Overview
Target Audience: Patrol Officers, supervisors, detectives Sponsor: Albany PD, NW Shooting Range Overview: This vehicle tactics course focuses on the principles and tactics involved with working in and around vehicles with a handgun or rifle. The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the skills and knowledge to be able to defend themselves or others while working in and around vehicles. The student will learn the limitations and capabilities of vehicles and factors that arise when fighting in and around them. Topics covered include: • Vehicle and Glass Ballistics • Exterior and Interior engagement techniques • Solo and Multiple Officer Movement in and around vehicles • Self-extraction techniques • Contingencies Instructors: Captain Buck Pearce and Sgt. Sam Posthuma, Albany Police Department Supplies/Equipment Needed: • Rifle with at least 3 magazines • Duty belt setup with holster and magazine pouch • At least 500 rounds of rifle ammunition • At least 100 rounds of handgun ammunition • 15 rifle dummy rounds • Ear/Eye protection • Weather appropriate gear PLEASE BRING LUNCH WITH YOU, THERE WILL NOT BE TIME TO LEAVE FACILITY FOR LUNCH
